Building Guide

How We Work With You

One of the most daunting aspects of any major building project is knowing where, when and how to start your build without overlooking crucial elements. We realise that every project is different and every client has a different set of needs. That’s why we can help you every step of the way, from choosing a site to moving in, or you can even go on holiday during the build process and come back to your completed home! (We’ll keep you updated every week on what is happening)

Step One. Initial Contact

After your initial contact, Lance will be in touch to discuss your project and make an appointment to meet you on site.

Step Two. First Meeting

Lance will meet with you in person and listen to your ideas and wish list. He will advise you  on the best way to go about your project and give you suggestions on how to work with your architect.

During the consultation, we’ll be running through the following:

1. What is your vision for your renovation
2. Timeframes. When to start. How long it will take. Any possible holdups and how we
can avoid them.
3. Council. What consents you’ll need. How we can help you get them and how the
process will work.
4. Pricing. What sort of costs you can expect and what type of contract will best suit
you and your project.
5. Project management of your job and who does that.

Step Three. Planning/Pricing

Once your plans are drawn, Irving Builders will then undertake thorough pricing of your project. Our pricing is transparent and we will offer you ways to reduce costs if required

Step Four. Contract Signing

Once costs are approved we will draw up a contract with you for signing. During this stage your plans will be in council waiting on consent.

Step Five. Project Begins

Consent is received and the project begins!  We will hold weekly meetings with you onsite to talk about progress and any items that need clarification.

Final Step. Handover and Completion

The job is complete and we hand you over your dream home, all shiny and bright, ready for you to move into and enjoy!
